Objective: To evaluate the short-term efficacy of Western medicine and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the treatment of advanced lung cancer. Methods: A total of 60 patients with advanced lung cancer admitted to the Department of Respiratory Medicine of Tongchuan People's Hospital from 2024 to 2025 were enrolled. They were divided into the Western medicine group (n=30) and the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine group (n=30) according to different treatment regimens. The improvement of clinical symptoms and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups, and statistical analysis was performed. Results: The integrated group achieved better improvement in symptoms such as shortness of breath (proportion of grade ≤1: 53.3%) and fatigue (proportion of grade ≤1 60.0%), compared with the Western medicine group (33.3% and 43.3%, respectively), with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The incidence of myelosuppression (26.7%) and gastrointestinal adverse reactions (46.7%) in the integrated group was lower than that in the Western medicine group (40.0% and 63.3%), and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine can effectively relieve clinical symptoms and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions in patients with advanced lung cancer, which provides a reference for the optimization of clinical treatment.Published
