Abstract

Objective: To provide reference for promoting the construction of Clinical Medicine Curricula through the analysis of research status and hotspots on Ideological and Political Education (IPE) in clinical medicine Curricula in China. Methods: By means of CiteSpace and VOSviewer softwares, studies on IPE in Clinical Medicine Curricula from 2016 to 2025 have been bibliometrically analyzed and visualized. Results: A total of 819 literatures were included. The research on ideological and political teaching in the core the oretical courses of the Clinical Medicine major held a large percentage. The research focuses included the deepening of teaching reform,IPE in specialized courses, and medical humanistic education. The main research institutions were medical universities and their affiliated hospitals, with inadequate cross-institutional collaboration (merely 35.27% of institutions participated in collaborative research). The re-search witnesses three distinct phases: conceptual foundation-building, practical deepening, and innovative development. Since 2023, new trends have emerged, such as smart teaching, cultural integration, and comprehensive competency evaluation. Conclusion: Research in this field is strongly guided by national policies but is confronted with challenges including insufficient institutional collaborative innovation and delayed integration into practical teaching. Future research should focus on the dual pathway of “technology empowerment +humanistic cultivation”, promoting the development of the field toward modernization, specialization, refinement, and systematization.
