As an applied course, experimental teaching is an important component of occupational health and occupational medicine. This paper explores the experimental teaching reform strategy of “virtuality and reality combination, transforming virtuality into reality”. The reform of experimental teaching focuses on operational experiments, virtual simulation experiments, and case analysis, including the setting of class hours and teaching content, the construction of a formative evaluation system, the strengthening of process management, and the cultivation of preventive medicine talents that meet the needs of the times through the construction of diversified, informationbased, and process oriented experimental teaching models. Increasing comprehensive and innovative experiments, strengthening the construction of open laboratories in university, and transforming virtual simulation experiments into an educational metaverse will be the direction of experimental teaching reform and development for occupational health and occupational medicine courses in the coming period.
